Thanks
By Mike Crawford
Wow! It seems like yesterday that I started M/C/C at the kitchen table. I feel very fortunate to be a part of a successful agency that today celebrates its 20-year anniversary.
The list of people I’d like to thank is extremely long, unfortunately too long to fit into this newsletter. I remember and appreciate them all. And, as a reader of this newsletter, you are one of the people I want to thank. Thanks for your interest in M/C/C.
Out of all the people with whom I’ve worked over the years, there are a few I want to identify specifically:
I want to thank my wife Pam for encouraging me to start the agency. Her confidence in my abilities was the push that started this wild, 20-year ride. Along the way, she has provided me with great inspiration and, when necessary, whacks on the side of the head.
I want to thank Dave Bolan and Arthur Epley who chose to make their company, Microwave Networks, our first client. Together, we made their company famous. As a result, just a few years later, it was acquired for a substantial amount.
I want to thank Tom Steinert-Threlkeld who was a reporter at the Dallas Morning News. He has always been as excited about technology as I have been, and we continually shared insights and trends in the marketplace. He went on to hold many key positions in various technology magazines and currently is the editor-in-chief at Multichannel News.
I want to thank all of the media reps that have worked with us to create successful advertising schedules for our clients. But, in particular, I want to recognize two real pros in the media business. One is Paul Zuccarini, who has since retired. The other is Don Seay at Network World.
I really want to thank all of our clients and the people we worked with during the last 20 years. There have been so many terrific people, many we still work with today. I have developed great friendships with most of them. To each of you, I want to say that partnering with you has been a pleasure.
And to the employees of M/C/C, both past and present: Way to go! Your commitment to our clients and your dedication to doing killer work have generated outstanding results for everyone we’ve worked for. I am just so happy to be a part of this great agency.
When I founded this agency in 1986, I hoped – but never presumed – that it would be around after 20 years. So as we celebrate our anniversary, I can honestly say that we have been living the unexpected in ways I didn’t even expect.
Thanks for the great ride!

Mike
